LEVEL-5 IS PURE NIGHTMARE FUEL

So my brother brought his PS2 and Playing FF7 at our vacation home and I have a question

WHY IS THIS GAME SO POPULAR?

Why is it more popular than FF1-6 and even 8-14? (No one ever talks about FF1)

(To me it’s the most overrated Japanese game ever)
