Do you think Layton 6 killed the franchise what with how magic oriented the Azran were in a world that was mostly based on logic?
AnonymousHonesty no. Hino wanted to end the franchise for quite sometime now, as evidence on the Azran Legacy announcement video, at least retiring Layton as role of protagonist.
If anything what truly killed the franchise is that Level 5 over saturated themselves with releasing four major titles that year (Azran, Galaxy, Wars, Yokai Watch)
Besides I prefer the whole magic thing then the so called logic of Layton because it expanded on the lore of the Layton universe, then again I’m bias towards characters and lore than plots so yeah
Do you watch the Youkai Watch TV show? Also, which starter Pokemon do you think you'll pick for the next games coming out?
AnonymousOf Course I watch the TV show. In fact I considered Yokai Watch one of the best Kodomo Anime shows of all time. I also play the video games and I love them
As for the starter? I think I would pick Rowlet but i’ll wait til the final evolutions

I came up with Jibanyan when I actually saw a cat being run over and dead on the side of the street, so it’s something very close to my own life and very memorable to me. That’s how Jibanyan came up, and the character being so popular with the audience is something that really makes me happy

I knew Layton is not gonna be in Smash 4
HOWEVER I’m disappointed that neither Mark Evans nor Jibanyan made it either, I mean we need more kickass kids and animals in Smash and I want Level 5 (there like one of the only companies hat make quality kids games) to get the recognition it deserves damn it
Sigh, there’s always the NX version of Smash (maybe)
Thoughts on Level-5 vision 2015
This a follow up to what I think of the Vision, since the event has now come to pass let me share some final thoughts
If I have to describe the event in one word it will be called Yokaimania there is a lot to look forward to if your a fan of the games, anime, or the mon genre not limited to Yokai Watch 3, A wiki app, A rhythm game, a 2nd season of the anime, a 2nd film, a spin off, a Match three puzzle game, even a universal theme park ride, and its finally making its way in the US YES!
Oh I almost forgot Level-5 is teaming up with Koei for a Yokai Watch x Romance of the Three Kingdoms crossover, from what research I did on ROTTK is that the game is a turn based tactical war game similar to Nobunaga’s Ambition so expect a game like Pokemon Conquest.
This is the 4th cross media project Level 5 has revealed, it looks pretty cute and fun and the trailer uses pseudo claymation which is CG that is meant to look like claymation, there are some funny moments and some sad moments packed in that trailer, but if Level-5 wants it to surpass Yokai Watch in popularity Hino has a a lot a work to do to show it.
Since the title is an Smartphone game instead of a 3ds title I consider the title to be quite misleading since its more akin to a spin-off, but hey I love the concept of building my own village and exploring it and at least as far as I can see there is no micro transaction system and you cant raid other villages, who knows maybe the game can connect to your 3ds original and have your own character explore your smartphone village in form of an update, wouldnt that be cool?
And the most controversial of them all is Layton 7 which is now turned to a game of old maid but with vampires and fortune telling, thou i’m glad that Layton is back but I feel that Level 5 is playing it safe and decided to dumped the original Layton 7 all together save for a couple of characters and dump the 3ds version, and its a Layton game on Smartphones, you know what that means
Well at least there might be a Wii U version as hinted by Hino but who knows. Thanks for listening to me and have a Layton Card
