Favorite Shady Yokai: Hinozall
He is the creator of Yokai multiverse, maybe even the level-5 multiverse as a whole bringing the joys of video games to children that is not Nintendo, and my head canon is that he’s Lord Enma’s biological father cause both have awoken forms that doesn’t just consist of a rainbow aura.
Favorite Heartful Yokai: Unikirin
Even though I never owned a Unikirin and maybe never will (just like I’ll never beat Kat Kraydel) I Just really liked the design and I’m glad that it’s normal counterpart Kirin made it into Shadowside
Favorite Charming Yokai: it’s a toss up between Jibanyan and Komasan so I choose Jibanyan cause he’s one of the most lovable mascots of all time due to a mixture of cuteness and spunk (and this goes to all forms)
You know just by looking at Jibanyan, Komasan, Komajiro, Whisper, and USApyon. I wish I can hug them cause by the end of the day maybe having one YW3 don’t be too bad and I’m just exaggerating things, I hope.
Favorite Tough Yokai: Toadal Dude
I really enjoyed there rivalry not in turns of doughnuts, and whatever they argued about in some episodes of the anime, but in terms of personality with him being the more laid back and spirited of the two (I bet they go to war on whether spicy foods are good or not)
Fun Fact: Fleshy’s prefer cream donuts while Bony’s prefer custard but in Blasters its reversed for some reason (no idea if its a localization issue)
Favorite Mysterious Yokai: Thurston
Seriously this is the only 2d image I can find that doesn’t have either something going on in the background or a dengeki online watermark (if anyone knows how to remove it let me know)
Well the reason why its my favorite Mysterious is because he looks cool and it’s one of the few instances american translations of kids video games got away with alchohal/drug refrences and hopes this form appears in the Shadowside Anime (still waiting for fansubs or translated transcripts)
Since my birthday is coming in a month and in celebration of the localization Yokai Watch 3 I decided to do an altered version of challenge since I can’t draw but here’s my favorite Brave tribe yokai.

Manjiknights for translating Yokai Watch despite being abandoned by three different fansubbers and Noroinohanako for translating Shadowside, Yokai Watch 179-182 and 214 I think, and the first 3 episodes of The Snack World (hope someone picks it up to fansub it, and the misanthropic dragon short, I think it’s on the YK3 movie Blu-Ray)
3. And finally Araceil for subbing Ina Reloaded (personally I’m not a fan of that special), and whoever fansub Ares and Outer Code. I’m currently flip flopping wether to get invested in Earth 2 since I REALLY WANTED a proper mid/interquel to bridge the 10 year gap in Earth 1 (Inazuma Eleven & Go) and the ideas Ares have is perfect for that. I’ll just wait for the Video Game to come out (the definitive version) for my final say unless you can try to convince me otherwise. (or pull a crises on Infinite Earths or DBS Universe tournament to get me psyched)

You can translate for fun if you dare
and It’s the greatest Yokai Watch movie so far, the charaters are one of my favorites of the entire franchise (Touma, Jaou Kaira) The animation? beautiful, the action? heart pounding, and the feels are through the roof.
As far as the genwunner whines of “dark and edgy” are concerned, sure it’s darker but it’s balanced perfectly with the same comedy Yokai Watch is known for (its more pronounced in the series) and the light and dark fits extremely well (unlike something like Lunatics Unleashed that tries to be serious but the animated and comedy style clashed hard) but edgy?
I can confirmed that Shadowside is not edgy in the slightest, edgy is live action Titans, edgy is Nutcracker 3D, edgy is IBO, edgy is the Dark Age of Comics, edgy is this
In contrast Shadowside is more optimistic, idealistic, and full of hope (or at least anti-nihilistic) My definition of edgy is Gore, protagonists that are Anti-heroes at best to Sociopathic at worst, usually post apocalyptic, brutal battling just because, cynical, pessimistic, nihilistic, and pointless strong language.
Thus i felt even bigger disappointment that the TLJ beat it at the Japanese box office, while a decent film, it made choices that made me cringe killing Snoke WAY to early (a character that supposably stronger than Palpatine), with absolutely no backstory on why he’s in charge of the First Order and KOR in the first place, pacing going at a amebas pace, Yoda destorying Jedi histroy and Kylo Ren smashing his cool helmet.
TLDR: Shadowside is made with love from both OLM and Level 5, and It’s a better Star Wars film than the Last Jedi, even though I might be called a newgenner in the process. (I love both Yokai Watch and its sequel series equally)
PS: I will only accept a Last Jedi remake if Akihiro Hino is involved

Hmm, can’t say I’m surprised despite the later time slot. though personally I wished they heavily cut like they did in France, unless your Gulli they aired that uncensored (I wonder if they would aired the episode if it aired on Netflix, Amazon Prime, or Youtube Red, but thats me being a purist) RIP Swosh and it’s Recap
