LEVEL-5 IS PURE NIGHTMARE FUEL
Level 5 originally wanted to make a arcade cabinet for their games (Professor Layton, Inazuma Eleven) called Level 5 station. Which will played altered versions of those said games, but it fell though

Level 5 Vision and Fan night thoughts

OH BOY! did Level 5 bring out the big guns today, not did he resurrect the two franchises that made them today but revealed not one, but two cross media projects, a new iphone game, a fantasy life “sequel” and three yokai watch iphone games, heck they even collab with Tatsunoko Productions’ 55th anniversary in 2017. Kids we got a lot of ground to cover

Let’s start off on where I fell in love with Level 5 in the first place and the definition of my Adulthood, Professor Layton. So far it from what I saw in the trailer I can conclude that this is the weirdest Layton title yet. I mean a talking dog and a toucan I think without Luke Triton translating it, it just felt weird to me for some reason. Anyway the style is as charming as ever with its more cartoony style. The design on Layton’s daughter and the waiter is cute and the series will become more about detective work and humor than previous installments. Kuniaki Iwanami, the new puzzle maker will have his work cut out for him if the puzzles will be as addicting as Tagos

Even though i’m not a fan of soccer, heck sports in general, I like the Inazuma Eleven series for its characters, the lore, its emotional moments, and even it has its dark moments at times. it modeled what made Level 5 the kodomo video game juggernaut it is today, and proves that properties based on video games can transcends its intended demographic. Anyway Ares got me intrigued, I’m so glad that Inazuma Eleven is going for the whole multiverse approach as the multiverse can grant you infinite possibilities and different interpretations of characters, and the little bracelet thing to train your players is like a safer version of Pokemon Go sort of, but what I hope for Inazuma Eleven Earth 2 id it becomes successful to become a trilogy, is that it can lead to a crisis on two earths when the protagonists of Earth 2 will face the with the protagonists of Earth 1 (the earth where the original and Go series take place)

OK I admit this is the weirdest cross media project Level-5 has ever produced. What I hope for the Snack World is that it will be a satire on the Fantasy genre, but heh I love fantasy and I love there using the claymation style for there CG which is not very common in Japan, and i’m going to but all the weapons. Oh Level 5 you so full of surprises

I got to be honest with you all, I’m not a fan of post apocalyptic stories, mostly because I find no joy in watching what’s left of mankind killing each other  in order to survive, and I don’t believe the apocalypse will ever happen, but I LOVE the mecha genre and the action looks so awesome and so loving the designs from Megaton Musashi that I can tolerate the whole humanity has no chance to live kind of thing. I also like a bit of school drama and mystery, Hino is getting guidance by the father of Humongous mecha Himself, Go Nagi of Mazinger Z fame (I can’t find a full episode of either the Hawaiian dub, and Tranzor Z) The card mechanism takes me back to the days I used to collect Pokemon, Digimon and Yugioh cards, and I simply love the whole diffrent platforms have different points of view, which makes for very rich lore. And it’s as close as a Danball Senki like game as you gonna get until 2021 maybe sooner

HINOS LOVE FOR FANTASY STRIKES AGAIN! but seriously Otome hero is an iOS game which is a sort of like a reverse harem but with fantasy action. You as the female hero can take up to three male slayers to slay the demon king, if you choose a favorite you can learn more about him and maybe fell in love. The character designer is by Kurahana Chinatsu who designed for the  Uta no Prince-sama series and Otome hero will get a manga and anime adaptation, it’s nice to see Level-5 getting out of its comfort zone.

I Loved Fantasy Life as is a loving tribute to the fantasy genre, even though I’m still hoping that Fantasy Life 2 can connect to the original in some way but I can’t wait to build my own village. See my Fantasy Life review to learn more about it (here)

Lasty is the Yokai Watch iOS apps

1. a port of Yokai Watch for our phone. I can play it again, I love the game (want me to review it?)

2. A Yokai Watch quiz app, I love quiz games I WILL OWN THIS!

3. A Yokai Watch rhythm game, I love Rhythm games I WILL OWN AS WELL! I hope they have songs from other Level-5 properties (They will have a ton of levels from Inazuma Eleven alone)

oh as a bonus, Level 5 is doing a collaboration with Tatsunoko Productions for their 55th anniversary. This version of Time Bokan is about that the History books are full of lies and they are traveling through time to see the true history. Believe it or not Time Bokan (and one its sequels) has an english dub called Time FIghters, but it’s dub by Tim Story so episodes are mushed together to make a movie. Kind of like the Nicktoons version of  Danball Senki except Danball Senki has a much better dub, the abridging is done better and has a budget. (see here to know what i’m talking about) Fun Fact: it’s speculated on the Danball Senki wiki that the three masked agents in Danball senki is based on the villain stooges in Yatterman, the sequel to Time Bokan so Hino is a fan of the series and his producing the TV show

Level-5 is the video game equivalent of Disney and Akihiro Hino is Walt Disney in the flesh. This is why I want to transition my blog from just Layton to the entire company itself. They bring Childrens video games to a whole new level with a wide variety of characters, life like worlds, and the awe of imagination. There games and their Anime and Manga counterparts are made for the whole family in mind and made with a lot of love that even if one of there games failed, they will get a cult following in some way.

LEVEL-5 FANGIRL FOR LIFE!

Happy 5th Anniversary LBX

I could do with more Layton on my dashboard so glad I found you :) Also what are inazuma 11 and yokai watch like? I've seen them but they look kind of half witted compared to Layton
Anonymous

Just think of Inazuma 11 as Backyard Soccer on steroids and Yokai Watch as modern era Doraemon.

Even though I lean towards Layton most of the time, you should check out other Level 5 products as well and trust me they are FAR from half witted, there just from different genres.

PS: I made a Danball Senki Nightmare Fuel page that you can edit because that franchise is the definition of dark kodomo anime and video games.

The animated faces of Akihiro Hino

There appears to be some kind of fan convention of two of Level-5′s big three franchises

Inazuma Eleven: (link

Danball Senki (link)

I posted these pages is because Akira Tago has passed away at the age of 90 due to intestinal problems. Akira Tago, thank you for giving us challenging puzzles for Professor Layton switch revolutionized the puzzle game genre, for giving Level 5 it’s first game it independently published, and for gave rise to what I Professor Layton series as “Level-5s first family”.

If it weren’t for Professor Layton not only will I discovered Level-5s awesome franchises, but I wouldn’t expand my gaming palette besides Pokemon and the occasional Mario game. Professor Layton Defined my adulthood just like Pokemon did to my childhood

Akihiro Hino, Level-5 and the family and friends of Akira Tago, my heart and wishes I give to you on your future successes and triumphs

I knew Layton is not gonna be in Smash 4

HOWEVER I’m disappointed that neither Mark Evans nor Jibanyan made it either, I mean we need more kickass kids and animals in Smash and I want Level 5 (there like one of the only companies hat make quality kids games) to get the recognition it deserves damn it

Sigh, there’s always the NX version of Smash (maybe)

This convention might be a good place to bring your loved ones ‘wink wink’

I guess its a convention

True Fantasy was supposed to be an X-box MMO game that’s supposed to be its killer app for its Xbox Live service, despite the came being close to completion however due to Level-5s inexperience with online coding and Microsoft’s assistance with the voice chat and both of their lack of understanding of each others business models the game was cancelled indefinitely and the two companies did not part on good terms (heck Level-5 didn’t make a game for the Xbox systems until they made WonderFlick in 2014)

Here are the links for a more in-depth view of the situation
