I know this sounds like a really dumb question?

should I get the Nozomi Entertainment Gundam Age blu-ray releases for the english dub? (which last time I checked its not uploaded to sites like Kissanime) or should I get the Deluxe versions of the Japanese blu-rays for the extra pack ins and audio commentary? (If there not available somewhere on the Japanese internet)

manwaifu:

Who thought getting Nagano Takuzou to design the Gundam AGE characters was a good idea?

Now, don’t get me wrong; I LOVE NAGANO’S CHARACTER DESIGNS. I love them. They just don’t work with a Gundam series. If we’re talking Level-5, Sonobe Jun (Danball Senki) would have been a better choice.

Actually Nagona only did the drafts, the actual character designer is Michinori Chiba, the guy who designed characters for IBO and 00 (correct me if I’m wrong) plus I think Sonobe Jun was sick at the time according to Hino’s bio manga (birth of Inazuma Eleven)

I’m just more interested in the diaglouge boxes on the bottom right corner, can someone translate them please

DanSen Novel 1

So I’ve just finished reading the novel version of the Inazuma GO vs Danball Senki crossover movie and I wanna talk about my favorite parts. And when I say ‘finished reading’ I mean ‘read all the Inazuma parts and skipped the DanSen parts because if Muraku’s not there I’m not interested’.

An Overview

  • The book is 198 pages long and covers up to the scene where Fran is ‘rescued’ by Tenma and the others.
  • The novel expands on the background of both the birth of Shinsei Inazuma Japan and the LBX.
  • There’s new scenes that aren’t in the movie.
  • It’s very slow-paced. The first 100 pages focus slowly on the lead up to the exhibition match between Shinsei Inazuma Japan and Inazuma Legend Japan.

A translation of Volume 1 can be found here.

So I won’t be translating it, buuut like I said above I wanna talk about my favorite parts. Note: I will use MY personal translations (which are very liberal because LOL) not the translations from the link above.

I FORGOT THE MOST IMPORTANT PART!!!

Among the spectators for the exhibition match are KURAMA sangoku etc… and ALL of their strongest opponents from rival schools and all the friends and family of members of both teams PLZ ALSO CONSIDER THIS YES

The Inazuma Eleven vs danball senki novel (or at least a part of it idk about the volume 1 thing) has been translated? Awesome sauce

manwaifu:

oh hino, when the novel is superior to your own anime

“It’s like the light novel is AGE’s original.
The anime raped the original! Isn’t this what it feels like?”

reading random lines (specifically looking for romary anyway) and i’m tired right now and without a dictionary so guessing because i can’t read kanji to save my life

  • asem, romary, and arisa knew each other from the tournament?
  • romary’s “that’s nice” (the ntr line) was cut
  • flit was doing his stuff for his family and for everyone else, no mention of yurin
  • romary and asem’s relationship developed better
  • romary is a much better character in general
  • at a certain something something factory thingy romary went from calling him “asemu-kun” to “asemu”
  • Romary “I…love both Asem and Zeheart. You guys are my important friends.” so she will support asem as an operator and stand in zeheart’s way.
  • obright = kinoko, better than chinko
  • remi and obright’s romance was cut out. now that i think about it, hino what was the point of that? you could’ve use that time to characterize romary or something.
  • asem plays a more active role? (compared to say, how he was pushed into the backseat from time to time due to his father)
  • after they sang karaoke during christmas, asem and zeheart escorted romary home.
  • zeheart told asem to ask romary to the graduation dance party. “You ask her, Asem. You’re a gentle guy, but I think now is a time you shouldn’t be.” “I wonder.” “I know.” (how to translate yasashii in this context)
  • largan appears

Um I’m not sure if your still active but the link is dead

This is why I want a full translation of the novels

I found the Gundam Age Wedding Eve Drama CD on Nico Nico Video and I can’t wait for a fully translated version someday

nut shelling of the CD (here)

Lucky for me I snag these concept arts from the Deluxe version of volume 9 before photobucket decided to hold them hostage (credit goes to HellCat for the actual scans)

P.S I want an actual translation not a joke one from /m/

Gundam Age Raw sort of Masterpost

I know what you penguins and ducks are thinking, why waste time on making zip files on Gundam Age since it has are very few fans and that no one cares if its it’s translated or not?

Here’s the thing, even tho I considered the show a guilty pleasure of mine, it’s still a part of Level 5 history, granted a black stain on its resume and possibly one of the reason why Level 5 is not that popular in the west but still I can’t really give my full opinion on the thing cause the puzzles are still missing.

The show was supposed to run for a year and the half but depending on who you ask is either because of disastrous ratings (same amount of ratings as SD Gundam Force) or that Unicorn took most of Sunrise’s budget because there’s a ton of content in the novels. By translating the manga’s and the novels (and the PSP which I considered the definitive version but I don’t know how to data mine for every piece of dialogue ever written) I can piece together this 3d jigsaw and see what Gundam Age was originally gonna be like

Well here are the RAWs

1. Gundam Age First Evolution vol.1 (zip here)

2. Gundam Age First Evolution vol.2 (zip here)

3. Gundam Age First Evolution vol.3 (zip here)

4. Gundam Age Second Evolution vol.1 (zip here)

5. Gundam Age Second Evolution vol.2 (zip here)

6. Gundam Age FInal Evolution (zip here) Note there is no 3rd evolution

7. Gundam Age Novel 1 (zip here)

8. Gundam Age Novel 2 (zip here)

9. Gundam Age Novel 3 (zip here)

10. Gundam Age Novel 4 (zip here)

11. Gundam Age Novel 5 (zip here)

The rest of the manga like Treasure Star, Climax Hero and Sid is not available in ebook format so I have to get a scanner for high quality readable images

Bonus: Staff Interviews (zip here) credit goes to unoservix for scanning the entire Gundam AGE Mechanics and World book (Dropbox made by him for the whole thing) and Alexsena for that first scan (Mobile Suit Gundam AGE Book Devices)

I really want to know what the production was really like, as info is like all over the place, (Is Hino a fan since he was a child or did he know little? Was the staff of Level 5 really mad at him?) the most concrete thing I got is that Hino in an interview with Newtype hints that the staff often decides the direction of the show like a coin flip

Well thanks for checking that post anyway, if the work is fully translated contact me by messages or inbox.

if you have any questions, concerns, or i’m I missing something, please tell me

Happy Translating

Ushiro scans Master Post

Penguins and Ducks, I have RAWs of the Ushiro Novels and parts of the Ushiro manga.

Here are the RAWs

1. Ushiro: Somber God of Death Manga adaptation chapters 2-4 (Chapter 1 was already translated by this fellow tumblr user shslscans (zip file here)

2. Ushiro Hero Magazine version chapter 1 and parts of 2 (zip file here) the reason why there is only two chapters is because the manga artist fell ill and they decided to try to finish it in volume form instead (the artist is getting better little by little)

3. Ushiro: Somber God of Death the Original Novel (zip file here)

4. Ushiro: After School of the Kingdom (Google Translated title) (zip here)

5. Ushiro: Grim Reaper and the White of the Saint (Google Translated) (zip here)

The may have been cancelled but these but the novels and manga are closest examples on what kind of game Ushiro would of have been. I have a few theories on why the game has been canned

  • Tech issues
  • being a late PSP game
  • being over budget
  • don’t know how to market it
  • or their reputation as a kids company

Thanks for taking the time to check out Level 5 history

If the work is fully translated contact me by messages or inbox

if you have any questions, concerns, or i’m I missing something, please tell me

Happy translating

UPDATE: Ushiro is getting resurrected on the Switch (source)
