My Favorite game in the series is the Azran Legacy cause it greatly expanded on the lore of the Laytonverse thanks to traveling the world and the Azran themselves
I always liked the Azran because they were an extension of the Layton universe's style of story telling and logic. They are a "magical" civilization, but all of their magic is grounded in progress and human achievement. Nothing is actually supernatural. This is a recurring theme throughout the franchise, and I think it collocates well with how the series was up until that point. You could almost consider the Azran to be the founders of the Layton universe logic, in a way.

Do you think Layton 6 killed the franchise what with how magic oriented the Azran were in a world that was mostly based on logic?
AnonymousHonesty no. Hino wanted to end the franchise for quite sometime now, as evidence on the Azran Legacy announcement video, at least retiring Layton as role of protagonist.
If anything what truly killed the franchise is that Level 5 over saturated themselves with releasing four major titles that year (Azran, Galaxy, Wars, Yokai Watch)
Besides I prefer the whole magic thing then the so called logic of Layton because it expanded on the lore of the Layton universe, then again I’m bias towards characters and lore than plots so yeah

I’m sorry fellow Layton fan but I don’t know where to find these cutscenes because all of the cutscenes have been kept intact as far as I know. Most rumors I heard of stuff being cut is when Loosha is getting beaten by Descole’s machine that is cut in the European version and a few last seconds of one AZ cutscene (I’m not a fan on how the localization was handled in America, just porting from the British version and dub Lani in and change a few lines and names, its usually the other way around)
I got this wallet 2 weeks ago, I never understand why there is no pre order bonus for the American version of Azran Legacy
Fun Fact: in the Japanese version of Azran Legacy, Aurora is talking to the Seven Sages of the Azran (proof)
