LEVEL-5 IS PURE NIGHTMARE FUEL
Why I prefer the prequel trilogy part 2

I’ve been hearing complaints that the prequels are not as well written as the originals, but the originals are not flawless

Curious Village: How to the robots not think there are robots? have they not think for one second for the reason why Simon keeps coming back to life? Have they even consider that revolving their lives around puzzles is not normal? Why people barely know St.Mystrie existed? why haven’t they rusted away with the elements (Bruno can’t repair them all)They don’t even question about their past or why they are even here. Mr Reinhold you are the most overprotective father I have ever seen, sheltering your daughter from the big bad world and locking her away in a bubble of a world, why not that before you die create some flyers and a puzzle test for worthy adopters? but I let it slide because it’s the most child friendly and simple Layton game, and Level-5’s first try at a game

Diabolical Box: How did Katia’s mother died is never explained, what kind of hallugentic gas can possibly come out of the ground, and i’m not sure gold creates that kind of gas (I’m not an expert on geology, or on gold) and does Don Paolo really need to be in the game, he was just here to kidnapped Princess Peach (Flora) and give Chelmey a headache, but all and all this game makes the most sense out of all of the Trilogy

Unwound Future: What is the point of Subject 3? more importantly what is making animals talk have to do with time travel? well Dmitri is the expert I guess? In order to have that the whole Future London work, they have to start building both the city and the fortress the day Clive was adopted by Mrs.Dove, eventually partnered with Dmitri so he can hire The Family to kidnapped the Fellow Scientists for god knows how long, and brainwash the citizens who lived in future London at the time, and that upside down beetle with lots of missiles is something that a ten year old made up, seriously how did that tower not collapse on itself, and even then a few tank missiles would surely knock most of the fortress weapon systems down, and is it necessary for all of London to be destroyed for something they don’t even know about/no control over because Bill Hawks and his party censored all info on the event? Honestly Clive and Dmitri should have joined/started an anti-Bill Hawks group composing of Family and Friends of the victims, those injured by the blast, and those who risk their lives to uncover the truth and simply assassinate Hawks. Oh Bill they could of made a Complete Monster on that dude, saying to Layton right in his face after saving him that yeah I killed your girlfriend so what? but instead he’s a cowardly idiot who should have known that Stahngun is Dmitri (Dmitri is not even trying to look different) whose shadowy organisation/political party gave him the money for a failed test run (what a waste of money) and became prime minister despite having no political background (money and flashy positive and negative ad campaigns does not a ruler make) and as far I can tell he did a good job of ruling the UK because Layton’s England looks like a great place to live in. Despite that Unwound Future is my favorite out of all the original trilogy because its nice to have Layton’s and Don Paolo’s back story to get a better understanding of the characters

Bottom Line is, no game is perfect, some people prefer character driven stories, others prefer plot driven stories, some people play the game for the puzzles, others for the storyline. Either that or I’m just biased because Eternal Diva is my first exposure to Layton, and Last Specter is the first (and favorite)Layton game I ever played. Thank goodness that I can’t find any fandom members that bash at people who likes the prequel trilogy better, and for that I thank you all for that
