are you FUCKING kidding me. They’re doing this to prevent people from starting a 30 day trial and canceling it as soon as they’re finished binge-watching their favorite tv shows. They’re doing it for even more money.

maybe i’m stating the obvious here but what the fuck is the point of having an on demand streaming service if content is still going to be realized weekly like it would be on TV

Most of the comments on this are acting like a streaming service dropping episodes weekly is a new thing. Hulu, DC Universe and CBS All Access have a weekly schedule for almost everything.

Besides, it’s better for a show’s longevity if they don’t release it all at once because it keeps shows in the conversation, keeps them trending, and keeps them in our minds for weeks/months rather than days. I haven’t seen anyone talk about Orange is the New Black since the week it dropped. If you really prefer to binge it just wait until it’s finished airing and watch it all at once.

Bingeing also makes it okay for shows to have subpar episodes because if you’re watching 10 of them, you probably won’t even remember that episode 4 or 7 of whatever it is actually would normally make you livid at its lack of story and substance because you’re already onto the next one.

Also, Disney+ is half the price of Netflix.

And I’m honestly getting fed up with Netflix anyway. They’ve gotten into the nasty habit of canceling their shows after 2 or 3 seasons without concluding them properly, because they get more money off new subscribers that are attracted by new shows rather than shows 2 or 3 seasons in.
